We ran into issues with a the bin lid plastic mould failing this month. Sarah from Customer Service replied to my e-mail within 24 hours and a replacement lid was received a further 48 hours after that. There was still a issue with the actual bid lid closing onto the base of the bin after a quick e-mail and video of the problem Sarah has arranged a replacement bin to be issued. "Superb products and the best customer service I've ever encountered. £50+ might seem steep for a bin, but when you've taken two £25 bins to the tip, you'll realise what a good investment a simplehuman bin is. My bin was around 5 years old. Admittedly I'd repaired it a few times, without realising about this website, and the fact that the company actually stands by their warranty. I couple of emails to explain the problems, and a brand new bin was UPS'd in a week. Not only that, but (due to our own fault) we'd asked for the wrong one as a replacement. I have a sensor pump soap dispenser, bought for us almost 2 years ago by our daughter in the USA (she has a few of these in her home)and posted across to us. The screw-on clear plastic lid got broken a week or so ago, so I contacted simplehuman to ask about a replacement. They identified the model from a photo, and promptly sent me a replacement. "I bought a simplehuman 30L butterfly lid bin several years ago and recently the lid and hinge pin broke. I was unable to buy a replacement locally (out of stock) and therefore emailed customer service to enquire about purchasing a new lid. The next day I received a reply from Sarah stating that a new lid was being posted out. I hadn't anticipated such a response and can't even remember having forwarded details of my home address (must have been accessed through registration records). Unfortunately the new lid couldn't be fitted as a hinge pin had broken. I therefore emailed Sarah who telephoned me that day to personally apologise that the problem had not been fixed and to assure me that new hinges would be posted out.The hinges arrived as promised within 3 days and the lid has now been fitted.Thank you for your fantastic service. "We needed a dog proof waste bin so we brought a simplehuman (not cheap) 38ltr pedal bin,after 14 months we had a problem with it,unable to find a till receipt or proof of purchase thought it would be a non starter for any help, how wrong can you be, sent an e-mail to customer services and within a week a replacement part arrived F.O.C, and I dont remember being asked for a delivery address! I have been absolutely thrilled with its appearance and performance until last week when the lug on one lid which the lid opening arm fits into broke. I emailed customer service and received an immediate reply stating that replacement lids were being sent. I was absolutely thrilled as I hadn't expected such an efficient and positive outcome with the minimum of fuss. The lids arrived as promised within 3 days and fit perfectly. "I bought a 30L Butterfly Pedal bin circa August 2008 however after a year the dampening mechanism became faulty and had to be replaced. Following advice from the Customer Service Team and a correct diagnosis of the fault and its remedy, a replacement part arrived within 2 days along with the requisite fitting instructions. Regrettably the bin suffered 2 further 'damper failures', both of which were rectified very quickly and without fuss. Following the latest failure (November 2011), the Customer Service team elected to replace the bin with a new model which, true to form, took approximately 2 days to arrive. As it happens I am an advisor with the Citizen's Advice Bureau and I often experience very indifferent and uncaring 'Customer Service' when negotiating with large companies on behalf of clients. My opinion is that the Customer Relations teams of many national and international companies could well use the simplehuman service level as a role model and as a guideline of how customer service should be accomplished. simplehuman Customer Service have done a great job in my case and I have nothing but respect and admiration for their efforts. The bottom line is that, in spite of the problems I experienced, I would definitely buy a similar item in the future."

"I really rate the slimline 40 litre bin I have for the kitchen. Great design and very neat. It was a shame when the lid hinges wore out within two years of purchase. I bought another identical simplehuman bin, registered the guarantee on their website and commented about the previous broken lid. "I have the simplehuman 30 litre butterly opening bin which is a very stunning design and features proudly in my kitchen for all to admire. Many friends, family and guests have admired the design and asked where they could purchase one. simplehuman is not as widely known as brabantia therefore they were hesitant. However i wanted to tell everyone of my experience, i have always purchased Brabantia bins in the past which although of a similar price have longer guarantee. But their guarantee is not worth the paper it is written on. The customer service i received from simplehuman was nothing short of extreme excellence. After 2 house moves there was no chance I still had the receipt and I wasn't very optimistic when I called simplehuman. "A huge thank you to your company. Having purchased a simplehuman waste bin, via B & Q, about 18 months ago, the closing mechanism broke a few days ago. As it was out of B and Q guarantee I realised that there was little point going back to them. But as I love my bin, I contacted your company for assistance - expecting to get a negative/run-around response, as is so often the result these days. Not so! A lovely lady immediately recognised and accepted the difficulty, and offered to send out a replacement catch to resolve the problem. In under 24 hours the replacement arrived - for free - no need for me to prove that I had ever purchased the bin even!!!

All is now working perfectly, and I only wish that all companies demonstrated your level of customer service and efficiency - sadly a rare commodity in today's market.

"I wanted to write to let you know what fantastic customer services I received last week from 2 of your customer service representatives. I bought one of your rectangular bins about a year ago and recently the plastic lid broke. When I phoned your helpline number a lady called Rose answered and was so helpful and arranged for a replacement stainless steel lid without delay, any questions or more importantly any hassle. Rose was polite and courteous and made me feel like a valued customer.

On receiving the lid a couple of days later, I couldn’t find the instructions on how to fit it, so I phoned again and this time spoke to Christine. She apologised and said she would email them to me right away. After a couple of hours I hadn’t received the email, so I phoned back and spoke to Rose again. Rose suggested it may have gone into my ‘junk folder’, which it had.

I now have a fully functioning bin again. Thank you very much for your team’s wonderful service, they are an asset to your company, and also for making me feel like my problem was your problem and not the other way around. I will definitely recommend your products to my family and friends."

"Your speed of answering the phone is fantastic, there has never been an issue with any replacement parts I've needed, the CSA has always been very polite and very knowledgeable.

And any parts have always been shipped out very quickly. All in all you have so far ticked every box every time I have called. It’s a shame that other companies such as BT or High Street banks don’t follow your example.
